Married 12th July 1908.
Both despatched by Army to India shortly after. During that time became youngest Regimental Sergeant Major in Regiment?.
Had their own bungalow and native servants.
Eldest Son Edward (always known as Sonny) born in India 1908? Knocked down and seriously injured by a horse and cart at Kennington, London and eventually died due to a form of meningitis that developed 1916.
After India, the family returned to England for a short while and then sent to Ireland 1910/1911. Able to have visitors from home, although Edith's sisters found the boat crossing rather rough.
Eldest daughter born in Ireland 21st June 1912 and christened in Kildare Cathedral.
